Behind the curtain
There’s a me you haven’t seen
A place you’ve never been
Roads split
The darkness has wound itself around us
The light that found us has faded
I waited for the breath of acceptance
But the truths I told were lies to you
I fell through the threads of what we were
Collapsed , unknown
I’ve grown up
But not to you
You feel the ice, the jagged side
I can’t confide in you
The me you knew has died
Become more defined
Behind the curtain
I learn to live
But you won’t forgive me
You won’t let me breathe
I seem cold
Because you won’t let me exist as a whole
Control, always what you need to survive
Alive in my skin
Within the real me
I see you and I have died
Our friendship has been sacrificed for hatred
I said my goodbyes
There in lies my heart
On the right side of the road this time
My mind won’t rule me
But my heart said it was time to go
So I left you and your memory to drift where it might
Love not lost
But realization leading me to understanding
I will remember you
In my heart
But my life is not a part of you
Be true to yourself
And love with all of your heart
Goodbye.
awww...sad, but sweet. hugs
Thanks. smile.
Very nice, something I can identify with from my past, for sure.
Wow that was just sad.
sad poem, but very nice. It's something that I can relate to as well.
In my opinion it's sad, but nice as well. Hugs <3
thanks
You just need the punctuation at the end of every line. If one seems odd, then add a comma. Well, it's good otherwise.
awesome
!
Lol! Yeah, it is with the punctuation intact. It's hard to read.
